The Irish Thoracic Society

The Irish Thoracic Society (ITS) is the official body for healthcare professionals involved in treating people with respiratory diseases in Ireland.

ITS members include respiratory physicians, thoracic surgeons, GPs, junior doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare providers. These members work across Ireland, North and South, and specialize in or have an interest in respiratory disease.

The ITS supports education and research on respiratory diseases. It raises awareness of public health issues like smoking, pollution, and occupational risks.

The Society hosts an annual scientific meeting. This event provides a forum for all members and includes sessions for respiratory nurses, physiotherapists, and respiratory technicians.
