A company who created an artificial intelligence patient care system that can eliminate inefficiencies in patient appointments has taken the top prize at the National Enterprise Awards at The Mansion House in Dublin.
The innovation, called SPRYT, is a virtual assistant that can liaise directly with patients on appointments via simple SMS communications to ensure appointment completion. The tool can also effectively reallocate appointments in real-time to eliminate no shows and wasted healthcare worker time.
The company was set up by Neill Dunwoody and Daragh Donohoe in 2022, supported by Local Enterprise Office in Co Monaghan, and pilots of the tool with the NHS have seen a 160 per cent increase in appointment conversion rates; a 260 per cent increase in patient engagement using the tool, and the removal of 80-90 per cent of the administration around appointments.
