The launch of our clinical webinars in collaboration with Medcafe
We are delighted to announce the launch of our monthly webinars on a new platform from 20 March, 2025, with MedCafe. These will be held on the third Thursday of every month at 7pm for our members.
MedCafe.ie is a one-stop-shop for our members to access and participate in online webinars on a range of different topics all in one place. MedCafe was launched in May 2018 by Bill Coghlan, Eoin Newell, and GPBuddy.ie.
To date, over 4,000 doctors and nurses have registered with MedCafe.ie. This number continues to grow daily and our members can set up an account to not only access the high-quality educational modules, but also our own private and secure platform, where we can view and store any of the webinars.
In the first quarter we are looking for our members to get involved with sharing some tips and tricks, new guidelines, and news from their specialities. We can share on social media, in our supplement, or on our webinars.
We are going to kick off with the cardiac speciality, and so far, we have the wonderful ANP Fiona Colbert discussing recently updated guidelines for hypertension. We then will have amazing ANP Kathleen Canavan discussing cardiothoracic robotic surgery.
For April we are hoping to cover weight management and endocrine specialities; anything from obesity and diabetes. Then in May we are planning to cover emergency care, minor injury, and orthopaedics. To access the webinars, there are two options for our members.

Secure communication
By Dona Cromar, RANP and IAANMP Committee Officer
At IAANMP, we have decided to adopt the Siilo messaging app as a secure communication platform for our members. This will provide a space for like-minded professionals to discuss patient cases and share valuable knowledge.
Our goal is to create a general IAANMP ANP members group, with the potential to establish subgroups for various specialties if there is enough demand. Participation in these groups is completely voluntary.
You will be responsible for downloading the app and submitting a request to join the group, which admin will approve. We are excited to develop a secure platform for communication and look forward to engaging with you. Once the group is established, we will provide further instructions on how to download the app and join the group.
So, what is Siilo?
