    St Vincent’s beat CYM Beechwood 1-0 in a scrappy affair to extend the unbeaten league run to 14 games. Dean Huggard struck a stunning free kick with 15 minutes left to be played, and the defence held strong to record another clean sheet. Not a classic affair by any stretch of the imagination, Vincent’s did just enough to get the win and keep the chasing pack at arm’s length.

Vincent’s opened a lead with goals from John Cosgrove and Barra Neary, and secured the win when Alex McDaid slotted the ball home in injury time. A close game that could have gone either way, Vincent’s displayed the necessary quality in front of goal to secure victory.
