Ballot of Limerick NCHDs for industrial action

By Mindo - 01st Feb 2018

University Hospital Limerick has agreed to accept and pay all unrostered hours that are worked and submitted with consultant approval by Thursday, 22 February 2018. If this agreement is upheld, no industrial action will be necessary. However, if this commitment is not upheld, the IMiO says it will have a mandate to take industrial action.

“It is regrettable that the regime in University Hospital Limerick has forced NCHDs to resort to the threat of industrial action for payment of hours they have worked in service of patient care,” according to a spokesperson for the IMO.

“However, the legitimate frustration among these doctors has now reached a critical point.”
