The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland is asking healthcare professionals to express their interest in completing an accredited basic surgical skills course that would be tailored for individuals working in surgical settings who wish to enhance their practical expertise and collaborate within the multidisciplinary team.

The College is exploring the possibility of organising such a course and would like to gauge interest among colleagues.

It is anticipated this hands-on course will be designed to equip participants with the foundational surgical theory and skills such as anatomy and physiology of the skin; aseptic technique and instrument handling; suturing and wound management; and principles of surgical assisting.

All suggestions regarding course content would be welcomed. If you are keen to participate or would like more details, please email tara.byrne2@hse.ie.
