The move comes following the recent publication of UCC’s five-year strategic plan, Independent Thinking, Shared Ambition: UCC Strategic Plan 2017-2022.
The contract will see a provider engaged at a cost of between €25,000 to €50,000 for at least six months, with a possible three month extension, according to a tender notice published recently by the College.
“The College of Medicine and Health is one of four constituent colleges in the university and it now wishes to develop its own strategy at College level to align with, and give effect to, the university strategy and to focus on the healthcare area in which it operates,” the notice explains.
“The College requires external expertise to assist in engaging with the approximately 650 stakeholders in the College in such a way that will harness their expertise and ideas to plan for the next five years. The College of Medicine and Health has a wide stakeholder-base and wishes to engage with these stakeholders in the development of the strategy. The College is keen to use, for example, innovative crowd sourcing techniques to ensure maximum stakeholder engagement and ultimately buy-in to the strategy.”
The engagement must help the College to set out its current status and “explain the need for a strategy refresh to stakeholders and show how the stakeholder engagement will apply to the strategy”.
The provider will also be required to use outreach tools and services that engage stakeholder groups in a dialogue or conversation that “elicits ideas and eliminates noise”.
A final report will be produced detailing the analysis undertaken and actionable recommendations. The entire programme is to be delivered by September.
