A HSE spokesperson told MI the original text was “put up in error” and “should not have been put up”.
The original text, which was online until at least Thursday, 9 February, said that “sponsoring this event will afford you with invaluable opportunities to use the Masterclass as a platform to promote and market your company to many of the leading professionals within the Health Service Executive Ireland.
“Other opportunities involve complimentary tickets to the Masterclass and guaranteed facetime with an (sic) HSE buyer at the event. Sponsor branding will be prominently placed on all conference material.”
The text has been altered to read, “other opportunities involve complimentary tickets to the Masterclass and attendance at the procurement workshop”.
“The revised wording better reflects the situation,” the HSE’s spokesperson told MI.
“As part of the event, Head of HSE Procurement will provide an overview on ‘HSE Procurement: One Voice for Health’, whilst also providing an opportunity for delegates to meet and network with HSE procurement experts/specialists,” added the spokesperson.
The Masterclass, which takes place on 27-28 April at the Convention Centre, Dublin, is aimed at senior healthcare leaders.
According to promotional material, the event “will bring together more than 1,000 healthcare delegates and renowned international speakers, and will provide a great opportunity for attendees to be exposed to leading innovative approaches and for suppliers to highlight their key capabilities”.
MI recently reported that the HSE plans for the Masterclass to be “cost-neutral”.
“Following an open procedure tendering process, Happening Conferences and Events Ltd has been engaged on behalf of the HSE to event-manage the Masterclass and to secure sponsorship for the event with the objective of making it cost-neutral to the organisation,” the HSE informed MI.
“This is a very economical and cost-effective way for the HSE to host such an educational event.”
According to the Masterclass website, hosted by Happening Conferences and Events,“sponsorship provides a great means of broadening your competitive edge by improving your company’s image, prestige and credibility by supporting events that your target market finds attractive”.
