In a discussion on the ICGP’s finances, CEO Mr Kieran Ryan told delegates that a total of €546,370 is owed to the College in outstanding subscriptions.
Mr Ryan added that the subscriptions overdue for over one year total approximately €369,000, while the figure for over two years is €177,000.
“There are significant outstanding subscriptions to be honest that we have to deal with on an annual basis,” said Mr Ryan.
It was voted that the annual subscription fee of €1,072 remain the same for the next year. Elsewhere, a later motion by the Galway Faculty, proposing that the ICGP reduces its annual membership fees by at least 10 per cent until the FEMPI cuts are reversed, was amended so that the College focuses on making members more aware of the reduced subscription rates that are available for GPs who are serious financial difficulty.
