Mr Goodey was paid €127,788 in salary and expenses last year, compared to 2015, when he received €62,098. Membership income increased from €321,394 in 2014 to €358,983 in 2015, according to the report.
The NAGP now has almost 1,500 members, the 2016 NAGP AGM heard. Mr Goodey noted that this represented “an almost 40 per cent growth in just 12 months, and we now represent half of all GPs in Ireland. it is now our objective to reach 2,000 members by June 2016”.
Meanwhile, Limerick GP Dr Emmet Kerin succeeded Dr Conor McGee as the new President of the NAGP, during the AGM. Dr Yvonne Williams was elected Vice President. Dr Mary Flynn is the new Honourary Secretary of the Association, replacing Dr Keith Swanick. The new NAGP Chair of Communications is Dr Liam Glynn.
