An IMO spokesperson has said that media reports today on the nature of what was being discussed or considered in these negotiations, by way of payments and services, are “inaccurate and wide of the mark”.
According to the Organisation, discussions have been held in relation to the scope of services, and such services may include one assessment at age two and one assessment at age five.
There have also been discussions on a cycle of care for children with asthma.
“We are currently in a process whereby we are determining the fee level for such services in accordance with the framework agreement but negotiations have yet to be concluded,” said an IMO spokesperson. “We do not expect that any contract will be offered to GPs until such negotiations have concluded.”
