IMO announces dates for Rural Practice Support Framework and STCs go ahead

A delay in signing the Statutory Instument meant the promised 1 May go ahead for the Framework and STCs did not happen.

However, the IMO has now confirmed that for the 24-hour blood pressure monitoring and LARC STCs the HSE PCRS is currently finalising the codes and claiming system for these. Any procedures carried out from today, 6 May 2016 will be paid and can be claimed for retrospectively once the codes and claiming procedure are in place. The new STCs will apply to all GMS GPs.

The increased rates for bladder catherisation and suturing will also apply from today.

For those who are entitled to the Rural Practice Support Framework they will receive correspondence from the HSE in the first week in June, the IMO stated. “The payments provided for in this allowance are paid quarterly in arrears, and the first payment is expected on the 15th July,” an IMO spokesperson said.
