The Department, working with the HSE, chose the Health Informatics Society of Ireland (HISI) and the European Connected Health Alliance (ECHAlliance) to facilitate the external support of the Ecosystem by bringing together stakeholders from across the eHealth spectrum.
The goal of the Ecosystem is to create ‘permanent’ mutually-beneficial partnerships to improve the delivery of health and social care, while providing economic benefits
Minister for Health Leo Varadkar said: “The eHealth Ireland Ecosystem will help us to modernise IT systems across the health service, and to implement the National eHealth Strategy. We have held a series of national events and are now ready to take this to another level with the support of HISI and ECHAlliance.”
Mr Richard Corbridge, HSE Chief Information Officer, said the Ecosystem will help “transform relationships in the delivery of healthcare in a technology-enabled environment for better patient outcomes”.
The first meeting of the Ecosystem will focus on ePharmacy and digital pharmacy support tools.
The eHealth Ireland Ecosystem welcomes expressions of interest to attend the event on 29 June, and individuals can register their interest at www.hisi.ie/ecosystem.
